Getting Rid of Noise in a Home Recording

Anyone who has had to put up with neighbors throwing a house party until 8 in the morning knows what noise is; however, noise in a home recording is a bit different.


Noise as referred to in audio has to do with the unwanted sounds and anomolies that somehow creep through because of technical problems such as an ungrounded cable or a mic turned up too high.

One of the easiest ways to get rid of noise is to make sure that all connection points between ends are clean in a studio. There are also may other things that can be done, including turning down all mic level components in the studio.
